EtchieStroh's Moonstone Entertainment has completed principal photography on ThePromise (Wu-Ji), a top-levelpan-Asian production in the hands of legendary Chinese director Chen Kaige.

Filmingof the epic fantasy romance took six months on location in Beijing, InnerMongolia, Yunnan, Hengdian and Shangri-La with a glittering technical crew andan impressive cast.

Inaddition to Farewell My Concubinedirector Chen, Oscar-winning cinematographer Peter Pau was director ofphotography with Tim Yip as art director and renowned Japanese artist KimiyaMasago who created hundreds of designs of costumes, weapons and props.

Specialeffects are by Hong Kong-based Centro Studios' entire 90-person team, under thedirection of special effects supervisor Frankie Chung (Kill Bill 1& 2).

Theprincipal cast includes South Korean Tae Guk Gi star Jang Dong Gun, Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada (TheLast Samurai; Twilight Samurai), andtwo of Hong Kong cinema's biggest names, Cecilia Cheung and Nicolas Tse.

Thefilm is structured as a co-production between China Film Group, Shengkai Filmsand Moonstone Entertainment with actress/producer Chen Hong and Strohproducing.

MoonstoneEntertainment, headed by Stroh, is handling worldwide distribution on itssecond Kaige film after Together.

Budget details have yet tobe revealed, but Stroh claims it is the largest ever
