Senior evp and global general counsel Henry Hoberman has moved Linda Kinney into the new role of svp and associate general counsel in the Washington office and promoting Dan Robbins svp and associate general counsel in LA.

Kinney joined the MPAA two years ago and previously served as vp of law and regulation for DISH Network and prior to that spent more than a decade at the Federal Communications Commission.

Robbins joined the MPAA in 1996 and before that he worked at the law firms of Graham & James and Pepper Hamilton as an antitrust and intellectual property specialist.

Both will report directly to Hoberman and will assisting in overseeing all aspects of the MPAA’s legal operations and affairs.

In the LA office, Karen Thorland has been promoted to svp and global content protection counsel while Kelly McMahon rises to the position of vp and corporate counsel.

Ben Sheffner has been promoted to vp of legal affairs and will relocate from LA to Washington.
