Comment on: Venice head 'impressed' by UK films
Quite a strong lineup with the British in full force
Comment on: Women film directors, writers decrease in UK
so, less applications from black and Asian filmmakers for the film fund? maybe because it will not be considered by the people who run the fund... i know so many talented people who are essentially shut out from this due to elitism...
Comment on: Four sentenced for film fraud
100 hours unpaid work? he should work at a production company
Comment on: Can TV save the indie film business?
this cash flow workflow has gone back as far as when Palace Pictures did television shows like Robin of Sherwood in the 80's... shame there is nobody else as brave and visionary as Nik Powell and Stephen Woolley to make edgy cinema.... oops, went off piste
Every six months broadcastnow and screendaily have an article on the lack of diversity in media and everytime I reply saying the same thing.. Nothing has changed, in fact it has gotten worse.. I myself can't wait for the system to be balanced out so I have started my own company and doing it all myself... Maybe a visionary will do something about it but feel in six months people will be surprised by the lack of diversity in another survey...
finally it will see the light of day so the audience can judge it on its own merits
Comment on: Guillermo del Toro inspires NFTS students
the students are sooooo lucky!
Comment on: BFI faces 10% cut for 2015-16
Typical! Cutting back is a really stupid idea considering the amount of money coming in.. Well done idiots
a pioneer of gritty cinema... more people should be challenging the system but don't

We all miss Palace Pictures 's passionate filmic energy
Comment on: Cannes Palme d'Or goes to Kechiche's Blue
Thank god the diversity of films can offset the multiplex fodder that is currently melting my eyes rendering them as lifeless orbs

Comment on: Content boards Pudsey project
If this kind of film is going to promote British Films then the industry is screwed. I am now going to shoot myself in the face while clutching my film script....... A simple story that promotes London and doesn't feature any talking dogs
Comment on: Siren, Solution launch fund
Since the demise of Revolver somebody needs ti keep the wheels if the British Film Industry turning....
Comment on: CNN Films, Cinedigm acquire Our Nixon
CNN Films should be called Turner Pictures Redux
Comment on: Zach Braff turns to Kickstarter
It's interesting to see if this will gather any traction on kickstarter. Almost as weird as Peter 'mainstream' Berg going to Cannes last year for funding coin
Comment on: FFI to sell Amy Winehouse doc
Thankfully a doc that is not sensationalist tabloid tattle and will show a side that was rarely seen. Senna was a triumphant tour de force that put you in the action
Comment on: Netflix closing on HBO subscriber level
Needs more data is rather telling on their original programming agenda but make no mistake, the Kevin Spacey vehicle was always going to be a loss leader that drives punters in as overall subscribers base. It's always good to shake up the traditional business model
Comment on: Thatcher's film legacy
The book is Icons on Fire:The Rise and Fall of Almost Everybody in the British Film Industry by Alexander Walker... Not so much about Thatcher but still an amazing read on the graveyard of broken companies that litter the eighties and all the more relevant considering Revolver's demise in much the same way as Goldcrest and Palace Pictures.... If more industry folk read this there's a chance of maintaining a more noble industry... I smiled as I wrote the last line
Comment on: Thatcher's film legacy
Also worth reading. Alexander Walker's books on 80's cinema.... Some gained, most lost
Comment on: Film Education to close after 26 years
Typical lack of foresight
Comment on: Killer's Vachon, Koffler talk VOD opportunities
When the studios stick to their old methods and get left behind, it's always down to these visionaries to look to the future....
Comment on: Puttnam takes aim at VPF model
Trust Puttnam to put things right!
Comment on: BFI backs feature debuts
Thank god female are given a chance to find a wider audience! Next up black and Asian talent...
Comment on: CinemaCon to honour Lin
Such an accolade begs the question, why was Fast Five (the pimped up Enid Blyton story) shut out of the Oscars?

Comment on: Film London boosts TV budget
This is a cyclical beast where the producers will come to town, abuse the system, government gets a noted and the system is stopped... Media's own version of boom and bust

Comment on: Ang Lee: 3D offers 'so much realism'
Shooting 3D has to become cheaper in the long run
Comment on: Requiem for Revolver
yes, the arguments from friends of mine are that Revolver did not pay people but they gave the opportunity for movies to be released that would otherwise be stuck in development hell. History always repeats itself, look at Palace Pictures, Miramax, Hemdale Films.... they were bad payers but bold visionaries. In an ideal world we need honesty but unfortunately the industry is full of sharks.... better the devil you know

Comment on: Roger Corman, GJ Echternkamp: Virtually Heroes
Interesting about the distributers...
Any money left for a Satpal Ram doc and Goethe racism in the prison service?
Comment on: The diversity opportunity
I read about this diversity issue every six months in broadcastnow and honestly very little changes. Minorities get marginalised apart from the odd person that makes it but really, it's all talk. We are still 20 years behind America and also its a shame diverse UK talent is moving to America for better parts... Check out my zeroheadroom blog as it covers the same ground
Comment on: eOne aims to release most UK films, add another territory in 2013, build on US partnerships

Comment on: Goldcrest offers three docs at Sundance
There is that crass overused word: diversity.... Nothing has changed in the last 10 years to develop black and Asian talent. Thank you for watching
.... From the director of Home Alone
Very Interesting viewpoint on the death of film... Face it labs were expensive and onerous costs shut out a lot of talent until digital came in
