If this kind of film is going to promote British Films then the industry is screwed. I am now going to shoot myself in the face while clutching my film script....... A simple story that promotes London and doesn't feature any talking dogs

Since the demise of Revolver somebody needs ti keep the wheels if the British Film Industry turning....
Comment on: CNN Films, Cinedigm acquire Our Nixon
CNN Films should be called Turner Pictures Redux
Comment on: Zach Braff turns to Kickstarter
It's interesting to see if this will gather any traction on kickstarter. Almost as weird as Peter 'mainstream' Berg going to Cannes last year for funding coin
Comment on: FFI to sell Amy Winehouse doc
Thankfully a doc that is not sensationalist tabloid tattle and will show a side that was rarely seen. Senna was a triumphant tour de force that put you in the action
Comment on: Netflix closing on HBO subscriber level
Needs more data is rather telling on their original programming agenda but make no mistake, the Kevin Spacey vehicle was always going to be a loss leader that drives punters in as overall subscribers base. It's always good to shake up the traditional business model
Comment on: Thatcher's film legacy
The book is Icons on Fire:The Rise and Fall of Almost Everybody in the British Film Industry by Alexander Walker... Not so much about Thatcher but still an amazing read on the graveyard of broken companies that litter the eighties and all the more relevant considering Revolver's demise in much the same way as Goldcrest and Palace Pictures.... If more industry folk read this there's a chance of maintaining a more noble industry... I smiled as I wrote the last line
Comment on: Thatcher's film legacy
Also worth reading. Alexander Walker's books on 80's cinema.... Some gained, most lost
Comment on: Film Education to close after 26 years
Typical lack of foresight
Comment on: Killer's Vachon, Koffler talk VOD opportunities

Comment on: Ang Lee: 3D offers 'so much realism'
Shooting 3D has to become cheaper in the long run
Comment on: Requiem for Revolver
yes, the arguments from friends of mine are that Revolver did not pay people but they gave the opportunity for movies to be released that would otherwise be stuck in development hell. History always repeats itself, look at Palace Pictures, Miramax, Hemdale Films.... they were bad payers but bold visionaries. In an ideal world we need honesty but unfortunately the industry is full of sharks.... better the devil you know

Comment on: The diversity opportunity
I read about this diversity issue every six months in broadcastnow and honestly very little changes. Minorities get marginalised apart from the odd person that makes it but really, it's all talk. We are still 20 years behind America and also its a shame diverse UK talent is moving to America for better parts... Check out my zeroheadroom blog as it covers the same ground

Comment on: Roundtable: The Age of the Entrepeneur
having a multiplatform business also means that people from diverse backgrounds who are routinely shut out from the mainstream media now have a chance to build/ find an online audience for their work. Open source applications like drupal are now easier to build towards user engagement. The big media companies may have the financial muscle to corner the best cinema screens and to carve up digital television channels but the freeness of the web puts everyone at a level playing field. Those companies still have the television/ cinema mentality when moving to the web thinking money will buy them access and for the most part are hopelessly last century. You just need to look at how Dogwoof engages its audience....
