Kirk D'Amico's international sales outfit Myriad Pictures has acquired international distribution rights to Tom DiCillo's latest picture Double Whammy starring Denis Leary, Steve Buscemi and Elizabeth Hurley. The deal was completed between Myriad and the film's producers David Kronemyer and Marcus Viscidi. Kronemyer's Gold Circle Films retains domestic rights.

IN-motion AG, the publicly traded German entertainment outfit which acquired a controlling stake in Myriad in July, is co-producing the film which is currently in post-production.

Double Whammy stars Leary as a world-weary police detective struggling to regain his self-esteem after he fails to prevent a fast-food restaurant massacre. DiCillo's previous credits are The Real Blonde, Box Of Moonlight, Living In Oblivion and Johnny Suede.

Double Whammy joins an increasingly impressive slate at Myriad headed by Chen Kaige's London-set erotic thriller Killing Me Softly which the company is handling on behalf of Tom Pollock and Ivan Reitman's Montecito Film Co. Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes star.

The film had been introduced to buyers by Patrick Choi and Nile Niami's Interlight Pictures at MIFED last year but their deal to handle the film fell through.
