Principal photography will commence in May in Puerto Rico on Los Angeles-based production, financing and sales company Myriad Pictures and Studio 407's live-action comic book adaptation Hybrid.

The horror story falls under the first-look deal between Myriad and Studio 407 and is being directed by Ernie Barbarash. Myriad is handling worldwide sales and is pre-selling at the EFM next week.

Peter Kwong wrote the screenplay and also wrote the comic book, which is currently in its fourth edition. A graphic novel is set to arrive in spring.

Myriad Pictures president and CEO Kirk D'Amico and Studio 407's managing director Alex Leung are producing the story of vacationing students on a fishing vessel who fall prey to a toxic avenger. Casting is underway.

Myriad's slate includes Last Stop 174, Not Forgotten, The Cry Of The Owl, Uncertainty and Dino Mom.
