Life at sea proved attractive in the Netherlands last weekend as hit animated film Finding Nemo and seafaring adventure Master And Commander all but drowned local family title Kees De Jongen.

Washing up in eighth place for UIP, Andre van Duren's film about the life of a Dutch boy in the early 20th Century spanning his adventures from ages 12 to 23 grossed just $85,863 (Euros 62,437) from 59 screens for a weak average of $1,455.

Nemo's box office boost may have helped the box office to a 23% week-on-week rise but, along with strong holdovers such as Love Actually and Good Bye, Lenin!, proved to have such a crushing effect on the lower half of the chart that year-on-year results for the week were 7% down.
