New Line Cinema has picked up North American rights to Gold Circle's romantic comedy Over Her Dead Body starring Eva Longoria Parker and upcoming thriller The New Daughter with Kevin Costner.

Mandate International is selling foreign rights to both titles. The studio has set a February 1 2008 release date for Jeff Lowell's directorial debut Over Her Dead Body, which stars Longoria Parker as the ghost of a woman who tries to stop her surviving fiance from falling for a female psychic.

Paul Rudd and Lake Bell are the other two leads and Jason Biggs, Lindsay Sloane and Stephen Root round out the cast.

Gold Circle fully financed the film and company chief Paul Brooks produced with Peter Safran of Safran Co. Gold Circle's Norm Waitt and Scott Niemeyer served as executive producers.

Thriller The New Daughter is set to begin filming in early 2008 and stars Costner as a recently divorced father who moves to a farm near a burial mound that severaly affects his child's behaviour. Ivana Baquero from Pan's Labyrinth plays the daughter.

Luiso Berdejo will direct from John Travis' screenplay based on a short story by John Connolly.

Gold Circle has fully financed and Brooks is producing with Niemeyer and Waitt on board as executive producers.

Niemeyer negotiated both deals with New Line's Carolyn Blackwood.
