The first Declaration of Independence Film Festival will be held in London June 1-7, with a concentration on North American independent films.

Features selected include Dan Casey's micro-budget Detroit crime drama The Death Of Michael Smith, Ali Selim's Sweet Land starrign Alan Cumming and Alex Kingston, Paul Fox's Everything's Gone Green, Michael Shroeder's Man In The Chair starring Christopher Plummer, Tanuj Chopra's Punching At The Sun, and Jeff Lipsky's Flannel Pajamas.

Documentaries will include Swimming In Auschwitz, Super Amigos, We'll Take Care Of You, Before The Music Dies, and Darius Goes West.

Other festival activities include short film programmes, panel discussions, director Q&As and live music events.
