Iron Man 2

Marvel Studios and Paramount return in 2010 with Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Jon Favreau once again at the helm. Downey Jr has also signed to play Sherlock Holmes, in a project based on a graphic novel, for Warner Bros.

The Avengers

No relation to the 1998 film, this is the Marvel superhero tag team which will open through Paramount in 2011. Expect to see Thor and Captain America, who get their own films in 2010 and 2011, teaming up with Iron Man and possibly The Incredible Hulk.

Watchmen

Alan Moore's award-winning postmodern tale about beleaguered superheroes is being directed by Zack Snyder and will open through Warner Bros on March 6, 2009.

The Green Hornet

Seth Rogen is writing, producing and will star as the newspaper publisher who becomes a masked vigilante. Columbia will release on July 25, 2010.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

Closed On Monday Entertainment and Oni Press' manga/graphic novel hybrid adaptation will star Michael Cera as a man who must defeat the apple of his eye's seven evil ex-boyfriends. Edgar Wright is directing early next year for Universal.

Unique

Platinum Studios' tale of a man who straddles two dimensions is set up at Disney.

The Ark

Dark Horse's film division, Dark Horse Entertainment, is collaborating with producer Neal Moritz on the sci-fi tale about Noah's Ark and a crashed UFO for Sony.

Elfquest

Rawson Thurber will write and direct the big-screen version of Wendy and Richard Pini's cult comic book, about a tribe of nomadic elves, for Warner Bros.

The Surrogates

Jonathan Mostow is about to wrap this Top Shelf Comix title about a cop (Bruce Willis) who investigates a conspiracy at a time when humans interact through surrogate robots. Disney holds rights.
