The third installment in France'shugely popular Asterix series will shoot at Spain'snew City of Light studio complexnext year, marking the studio's first major international production.

The budget of around $95.6m (80m Euros)Asterix At The Olympic Games (AsterixAux Jeux Olympiques) isexpected to begin shooting next May or June between the studio and in exteriorlocations in the southern Alicante region where Cityof Light is located.

The film is a co-production of Thomas Langmann'sLa Petite Reine with Pathe,which is also handling international sales. Frederic Forestieris directing and confirmed cast, apart from high-profile European sportscelebrities in talks to play Olympic athletes, include Gerard Depardieu, ClovisCornillac, Alain Delon andBenoit Poelvoorde.

City of Light(La Ciudad de la Luz) opened its first six soundstages to feature film shootsthis year, taking in local productions LaDama Boba, El Sindrome De Svensson and UKco-production Arritmia.Spanish-Frenchco-production Lo QueSe De Lola is now shooting at the studio, and the ongoing production of RayLoriga's Teresa starring Paz Vega, Death And Life (Teresa, MuerteY Vida)will move there in January.

The studio will inaugurate four more soundstages at the endof next year before unveiling its much-anticipated water tanks in late 2007.
