Moonlight

The 33rd annual Film Independent Spirit Awards will take place on March 3, 2018.

Nominations are scheduled to be announced in a Los Angeles press conference on November 21.

The Spirit Awards honour among others best feature, first feature, screenplay, acting, documentary, and international film, and the John Cassavetes Award for films produced for under $500,000.

Last year Moonlight (pictured) landed the best feature, director, screenplay, cinematography, and editing prizes.

O.J.: Made In America was named best documentary, while Casey Affleck earned the actor award for Manchester By The Sea, and Isabelle Huppert was named best actress for Elle.

Call for entries for the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards is now open. The regular deadline is September 19 and the final deadline is October 10.
