Successful applicants for the 3D Creative Summit Producer’s Lab have been revealed a week ahead of the inaugural event.

The 3D Producers Lab will give select producers access to leading UK and international experts to gain knowledge and skills of producing content in 3D.

The ‘Lab’ will be chaired by Creative Skillset’s Emily Man and includes Sky channel director John Cassy and stereographer Chris Parks of Vision 3 [click here for interview].

The Lab applicants were either developing a 3D feature project or feature or had already made a 3D short. The 15 successful applicants include experienced producers such as Warp Films’ Barry Ryan (This is England) and Ajay Rai of Gunslinger Films (iLL Manors).

Newer producers selected for the event include Kate Ogborn of Fly Film Company, Joe Kennedy of Mountain Films and Andrea Florence of Aquila Films, all of whom had produced a number of documentaries.

The 3D Creative Summit, the first of its kind in the UK will host a live link up with Oscar- winning director Ang Lee about his win for Life Of Pi. He will be joined in London by the film’s VFX consultant, David Conley.  

As previously reported, the event’s speakers also include discussions with David Attenborough on nature series Galapagos and Ben Timlett on Monty Python doc A Liar’s Autobiography.

Other speakers include Park Road Post’s Phil Oatley, who will be speaking in the UK for the first time on his work on films such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Robert Neuman, stereoscopic department head for Walt Disney Animation Studios, who will highlight work from Wreck-it Ralph.

Ravensbourne and the International 3D Society are organising the two day summit, which runs from March 27-28 at London’s BFI.
