The impact of technology on global production will take centre stage at the upcoming AFCI Locations Show, set to run at the LA Convention Center from Jun 27-29.

Discussion topics will include the rapid spread of digital distribution channels such as Netflix and YouTube and the emergence of cloud computing as a production tool.

Film incentives will also be a major focus at the show and the show floor will host hundreds of film offices from around the world.

“Producers are responding to this rapidly changing environment by creating new types of content with a whole new set of production tools,” said AFCI executive director Kevin Clark.

“Film commissions are also looking to innovate and provide services to support all types of content. Our goal is to help our members, as well as show attendees, understand how these changes will impact location filming in the future.”
