Festival top brass said the event will take place on November 11, raising the possibility of a first-look at one of a handful of unseen potential awards contenders.

The three front-runners from that pool are Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken and Ana DuVernay’s Selma.

American Sniper stars Bradley Cooper (pictured) as the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and is scheduled to open through Warner Bros on December 25.

Unbroken stars Jack O’Connell as the WWII Japanese POW survivor Louis Zamperini and will debut through Universal on December 25.

All-star Civil Rights drama Selma stars David Oyelowo as Martin Luthenr King Jr and is set to open through Paramount on December 25.

The title will be announced on the morning of November 11. The festival kicked off on November 6 with the world premiere of JC Chandor’s well received A Most Violent Year.
