Altitude FIlm Distribution acquires award-winning features for first UK release slate.
Altitude Film Distribution has secured three new titles, taking its first UK theatrical slate to eight features.
The latest films include Fruitvale Station, written and directed by Ryan Coogler and winner of last year’s Prix de l’Avenir in the Un Certain Regard at Cannes and the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2012.
The other two titles are The Nightmare, from Room 237 director Rodney Ascher about the visions experienced by victims of sleep paralysis; and high school horror homage All Cheerleaders Die, written and directed by Lucky McKee and Chris Sivertson.
Previously announced titles on the slate include Love Is Strange, which received its international premiere in Berlin’s Panorama section this week; documentary Bolshoi Babylon, about the Russian ballet company; and Oscar-nominated documentary 20 Feet From Stardom, a tribute to backup vocalists.
Other titles include Asif Kapadia’s Untitled Amy Winehouse doc and horror thriller The Loch, co-produced by Altitude Film Production.
Will Clarke, chairman and joint-CEO of Altitude Film Entertainment, said he wanted to bring “important, insightful, original and in pure terms, entertaining” films to UK audiences.
