Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio has closed a three-year deal with the studio, effective immediately.
The companies worked together on The Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, and Shutter Island, and have four projects in development.
The Devil In The White City adapted by Billy Ray will reunite DiCaprio with Martin Scorsese, while Sandcastle Empire is a climate change cautionary tale close to DiCaprio’s heart.
The roster includes an untitled film based on a book proposal by New York Times journalist Jack Ewing about the recent Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal, and a limited television series based on A Scott Berg’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography of Charles Lindbergh.
Paramount CEO Brad Grey called DiCaprio, who last month won the best lead actor Oscar for The Revenant, “one of the great talents of our time.”
Grey added, “We are both proud and excited to grow our relationships with [DiCaprio], Rick Yorn, Jennifer Davisson and the entire team at Appian Way.”
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brad and the team at Paramount Pictures on numerous projects throughout my career,” said DiCaprio. “I cannot think of a better home for Appian Way as we continue our growth.
Appian Way is currently in post-production on Live By Night and is in pre-production on Robin Hood: Origins. Both are set for release in 2017.
