The International Indian Film Academy (IFFA) has announced that this year’s IIFA Weekend and Awards will be held in Singapore from June 7-9.
Organised by Wizcraft International Entertainment with support from the Singapore Tourism Board, the three-day event will include the world premiere of a Bollywood film at Shaw Theatres’ Lido Cinemas on June 7; a music concert on June 8, and the awards show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on June 9.
As usual, the awards will be broadcast globally on Star Plus to a viewership of almost 700 million.
Singapore previously hosted the event in 2004, making it the third nation to host the awards twice. Entering its 13th edition this year, the IIFAs have previously been held in countries such as the UK, Canada, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Macau, which compete to host the event due to the influx of South Asian tourist dollars that usually accompany the show.
