Korea’s Lotte Entertainment has sealed a string of deals on local box office hit The War Of The Arrows, including a Japanese sale to Showgate.

The historical action epic has also gone to France (Right Advice), Australia/New Zealand (Madman), Latin America (Borsalino), Thailand (KPRG) and Malaysia (Hwa Yea).

The film was also sold to several territories at last year’s AFM including the UK (Showbox), Germany (Splendid) and North America (CJ America and Well Go USA).

Directed by Kim Han-min, the film was Korea’s biggest local box office hit last year, raking in $49.4m, and the second biggest overall behind Transformers: The Dark Side Of The Moon with $66m.

Lotte has also sold Pain, starring Kwon Sang-woo, to Japan (SPO) and Thailand (STG), while A Reason To Live has also gone to Thailand (STG) and Malaysia (Hwa Yea).

Action thriller S.I.U. (Specials Investigations Unit), directed by Hwang Byung-gug, has gone to Rainbow Entertainment for Indonesia and Malaysia.
