The Walt Disney Company (India) Private Limited, which set up its India operations in Mumbai in 2004, will release its first live action Hindi feature Do Dooni Chaar on October 8.

Directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Planman Motion Pictures, the film stars veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor along with Aditi Vasudev and Archit Krishna.

Speaking about the feature, Swati Shetty, executive director theatrical productions and acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India), said, “Storytelling is at the heart of Disney’s creative heritage and Do Dooni Chaar is the best representation of this with its delightful and touching narrative that will resonate with every Indian family.

The story tracks the changes that take place in a middle class family when they decide to graduate from a scooter to a car.

“We are thrilled to be working with Disney to enable more Indian movie lovers the opportunity to see this film. The story of the Duggal family is one of universal heartache and triumph,” said Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, CEO and creative director, Planman Motion Pictures, which was founded in 2002 by Arindam Chaudhari and has so far produced nine films in three languages.

Another Disney project, Telugu fantasy adventure film Anaganaga-O-Dheerudu (Once Upon A Warrior) is in production.
