India’s Film Bazaar (Nov 24-27) has launched a new section this year, Market Recommendations, to present the latest Indian product to international buyers and film festival programmers.

The section, also called Film Bazaar Recommendations, complements the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India but focuses on productions which have not previously been released.

“Of the 50 films presented in the Film Bazaar screening room film library, we have selected 16 titles to meet the needs of buyers and programmers,” said Deepti DCunha, Film Bazaar consultant for Market Recommendations and the Work-in-Progress Lab.

The hotly-tipped titles include Gurvinder Singh’s Alms Of The Blind Horse, which premiered at this year’s Venice film festival, and Mangesh Hadawale’s Watch Indian Circus, which premiered at Busan.

The line-up also includes two documentaries: Miriam Chandy Menacherry’s The Rat Race, about the city of Mumbai from the viewpoint of its chief rat-catcher, and Kamar Ahmad Simon’s Are You Listening?, a Bangladeshi film on people coping with flooding.
