The Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP) project market closed today (Oct 13) with top Pusan Award of $20,000 going to Ogigami Naoko’s Mushroom Watermelon.

The project is based on a true story of two 15-year-old French girls who set out in manga-inspired “Gothic Lolita” costumes on a transcontinental pilgrimage to their perceived land of cool - Japan.

A big cheer went up from the awards ceremony crowd when Mundane History director Anocha Suwichakornpong won the PanStar Cruise Award for her project The White Room. Sponsored by PanStar/PanStarline.com, the award gives $10,000 for development fund.

Untold Scandal director E J-yong won the Kodak Award of $20,000 worth of negative film.

Mouly Surya’s Extraordinary Me took the Goteborg Film Festival Fund, which provides eight to ten people involved in its selected project with $20,000 worth of travel expenses and $3,000 of support.

Tom Shu-Yu Lin’s Starry Starry Night (working title) took the CJ Entertainment Award which gives $10,000 to an overseas project.

Mohamed Al-Daradji’s The Train Station took the KOCCA Award from the Korean Creative Contents Agency (KOCCA) which chooses a project on Asia to support with development funds up to $10,000.

Daniel H. Byun’s Baby Blue (La Belle Déesse) took the $10,000 Lotte Award for a Korean project.
