Distribution Workshop’s The Last Tycoon, starring Chow Yun-fat, will receive its world premiere on the opening night of ScreenSingapore on December 4.

Directed by Wong Jing and produced by Andrew Lau, the film tells the true story of a gangster who ruled Shanghai during the 1920s and 1930s.

Backed by China’s Bona Film Group and distributed worldwide by Hong Kong-based Distribution Workshop, the film also stars Huang Xiaoming, Sammo Hung and Yolanda Yuan. The red carpet premiere will take place at the Shaw Theatres Lido.

Bona CEO and founder Yu Dong and Distribution Workshop chairman Nansun Shi have both been confirmed as speakers for ScreenSingapore conference, which will host panels on co-production, financing, investment and film technology in and with China.

ScreenSingapore (Dec 4-7) is being held concurrently with the Asia TV Forum & Market at Sands Expo and Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands.
