Koh Lin-net has been appointed CEO of Singapore’s Media Development Authority (MDA), replacing Aubeck Kam who leaves the post on October 31.
Singapore’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) announced the changes on Monday.
Koh is currently Deputy Secretary (Trade) at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, a post she has held since 2008.
She has also held posts at Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), Singapore Tourist Promotion Board, Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), Biomedical Research Council and the Ministry of Law.
In 2004, Koh joined MICA as director of arts and heritage development. She was appointed deputy secretary, infocomms, media and the arts, in 2007.
Kam joined the MDA in Nov 2010 and oversaw a major revamp of the organisation’s grant schemes for the film and media industries. Singapore’s plans to switch from analogue to digital broadcasting by 2020 were also kickstarted during his tenure.
From Nov 1, Kam will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Communications and Information in Singapore.
