London event organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The UK’s Hong Kong Film Week, held Sept 12- 16, will play host to the international premiere of Chinese-Hong Kong co-production Overheard 2 [pictured] at The Mayfair Hotel in London.
The festival, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will present four other celebrated Hong Kong films, which will be screened at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square.
The screenings include the winner of the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival Crystal Bear, Echoes of the Rainbow (Alex Law), alongside 2008 martial arts classic, Ip Man (Wilson Yip), 2010 romantic comedy Love in a Puff (Pang Ho-cheung) and 2008 police drama The Beast Stalker (Dante Lam).
Margaret Fong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, said: “These five films represent well the robust Hong Kong film scene, one of the largest and most dynamic in the world, and the city is recognised globally as Asia’s film business hub.”
Alongside the HKTDC, the festival is supported by CreateHK and Hong Kong Film Development Council. It is part of the ‘Think Asia, Think Hong Kong’ campaign, which is pursuing increased awareness of business opportunities in Asia.
