Free Stone Productions partners with digital distribution outfit.

Digital film distribution and marketing company Under The Milky Way has created a new Japanese offshoot, KK Under the Milky Way (Japan), in partnership with Free Stone Productions.

Miyuki Takamatsu [pictured], founder of Free Stone Productions, will be responsible for the development of aggregation activities in Japan for platforms such as iTunes, Sony and Google.  She will also be responsible for the digital distribution of foreign films in the Japanese market.

Also, as recently reported, Under The Milky Way has also formed a partnership with the International Film Festival Rotterdam for the launch of “IFFR in the Cloud, which puts festival films onto iTunes.

Under The Milky Way is now fully operational in more than 60 territories and has 10 offices across Europe, North America and Asia.
