The Pigott/BAFTA Scholarships will support British university graduate students studying at accredited graduate schools in the US in filmmaking programmes leading to a masters degree.

The scholarships are funded by a $1m endowment from industrialist and philanthropist nKBE.

“I would like to thank Mr Pigott [pictured] for his visionary leadership in conceiving and funding this scholarship programme,” said BAFTA LA executive director and COO Donald Haber.

“This is the largest scholarship programme in the history of BAFTA and will contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders in the film industry.”

Since the organisation’s inception in 1987, the BAFTA Los Angeles Scholarship Program has supported British graduate students complete their education at US university film schools.
