Greta Gerwig, Michel Gondry and Neil Jordan among confirmed industry experts at this year’s Berlinale Talents.

Over 120 industry experts will take part in the upcoming edition of Berlinale Talents, being held at the HAU Hebbel am Ufer Theater from Feb 8-13.

Focusing on how to successfully push storytelling and create compelling films, the Summit programme starts on Feb 9 with ‘Once Upon a Time: How to Start a Film?’ with screenwriters James Schamus, Greta Gerwig and Michel Gondry.

Other sessions include producer Martha De Laurentiis and director Neil Jordan exploring the challenges of creating a story for a serial format; sound designer Eugene Gearty and film-maker Peter Strickland discussing a film’s sound design can add layers to the story; and producer Louise Vesth will talk about how to effectively create a buzz around controversial films.

The twelth year of the Berlin International Film Festival initiative will see former participants like Anthony Chen and Haifaa Al Mansour returning to take part.

In total, this year’s Berlinale features 62 films made by 79 alumni of Berlinale Talents.
