European Film Promotion (EFP) is set to host a public forum, open to anyone interested in building a career as a performer in the film industry, at this month’s Berlin International Film Festival.

EFP’s Shooting Star initiative has featured at every Berlinale in the 15 years, but this public forum is the organisation’s first.

The initiative traditionally introduces 10 of Europe’s best young actors to film industry at large. This public forum - entitled ‘The Actor’s Role: How to Become Valuable in the Film Industry - will be held during the first weekend [Feb 9-10] of the festival. It will focus on actor visibility, and consider the development and longevity of a career in film.

The public forum will be moderated by Loretta Stern, and will feature a panel of industry experts: Joseph Middleton (head of casting for Paramount Studios), UK casting director Debbie McWilliams, US casting director Lina Todd, manager DK Anne Lindberg, and US agent Jack Whigham.

Shooting Stars is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, the participating EFP members and additional partners.
