EXCLUSIVE: Bleiberg Entertainment has struck a two-film deal with wrestling star Steve Austin and will introduce the projects via its Compound B genre label to EFM buyers in Berlin this week.

Austin recently launched Broken Skull Ranch Productions and will produce and star in the action projects set to begin shooting this summer. The first will be called Kill ‘Em All, John while the second has yet to be named.

Rights are not available in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and a North American deal is expected to be announced shortly.

Austin’s fellow producers on the two projects are Ehud Bleiberg and Jack Heller and Dallas Sonnier of Caliber Media Co’s genre division Caliber Force.

Nicholas Donnermeyer of Bleiberg Entertainment and Ross Dinerstein of Preferred Content serve as executive producers.

“This is a really good fit and the perfect place to launch Broken Skull Ranch Productions,” said Austin.

“I’m a fan of producer Ehud Bleiberg, who shares my passion for high-testosterone entertainment. I am excited about expanding the Broken Skull Ranch brand into the world of film.”

Donnermeyer added: “We’re very excited about the opportunity to do these movies with Steve. He is one of the only true action stars out there. He’s physical and tough, but he’s incredibly charismatic too.”

Austin will next be seen in Anchor Bay’s The Package and recently wrapped production on the second series of TV show Redneck Island.

He is represented by UTA and attorney Patrick Knapp at Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman and Goodman.
