Three films to be screened on June 10 with winner voted for by the audience of 10-13 year olds after the screenings.

Gust Van den Berghe’s Blue Bird, Boudewijn Koole’s Kauwboy [pictured] and Ursula Meier’s Sister have been nominated for the inaugural European Film Academy (EFA) Young Audience Award.

The nominations were chosen by Florence Dupont, artistic director, Sancy Film Festival for Young People, Jerzy Moszkowicz, director, International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino, and Maryanne Redpath, director, Generation section, Berlin International Film Festival.

On Young Audience’s Film Day (June 10), an audience of 10-13 year olds will watch the three nominees in Amsterdam, Belgrade, Copenhagen, Erfurt, Norrköping and Turin, before voting on the winner immediately after the screenings. The winner will be presented with the award on the same day in Erfurt, Germany.

The EFA Young Audience Award is organised and presented by the EFA and EFA Productions with the support of the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM).
