Traditionally the post-Thanksgiving weekend is a slow one and so it proved to be as Lionsgate’s Twilight finale held on to number one spot in its third weekend, adding an estimated $17.4m to reach $254.6m.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has amassed $702m worldwide.

The Weinstein Company’s gangster drama Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt [pictured] opened in seventh on a negligible $7m from 2,424 sites, while LD Entertainment’s horror sequel The Collection opened in tenth place on a lacklustre $3.4m from 1,403.

The order of the top six remained intact. Most notable behind Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was Sony, MGM and Eon’s global smash Skyfall in second on $17m for $246m.

Warner Bros’ Argo crossed $100m in its eighth weekend and ranks eleventh. DreamWorks’ Lincoln, distributed in North America through Buena Vista and internationally through Fox, is closing on $100m and ranks third on $83.7m after four weekends.

DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of The Guardians in fourth place stands at a dismal $48.9m after two through Paramount, although the tally climbs to $106m factoring in this weekend’s excellent $40m haul from 55 territories.

Fox’s Life Of Pi ranks fifth on $48.4m in its second session. Flight ranks ninth through Paramount and stands at $81.5m after five.

Open Road announced that it will re-release End Of Watch on Dec 7. David Ayer directed Exclusive Media’s police thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena and it recently garnered a Spirit Award supporting actor nomination for Pena and a cinematography nod for Roman Vasyanov.

Next weekend’s wide release is FilmDistrict’s rom-com Playing For Keeps starring Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dennis Quaid.
