EXCLUSIVE: Los Angeles-based Cinema Management Group has announced initial theatrical results from 15 territories for its 3D animation Adventures In Zambezia.

The family feature drew more than 75,000 admissions in Poland and generated $484,000 to beat out Oscar nominees Wreck-It Ralph and Life Of Pi and rank as the number one animation in release.

Zambezia has amassed more than $5.5m from CIS territories and more than $3m in South Korea, while South Africa has produced a little under $1m and Portugal $750,000.

“We’re thrilled with the numbers we’re seeing from abroad, and we believe it’s a sign the sky’s the limit for a film about birds,” said CMG president Edward Noeltner [pictured]. Upcoming releases are set for Mexico, China and Australia.
