Exclusive Media and Cuatro Plus Films’ thriller Dark Places starring Charlize Theron has sold in a slew of deals including Mars for France and Remstar for Canada.

Rights to the Gillian Flynn adaption have gone to Japan (CCC), Scandinavia (Svensk), Switzerland (Ascot Elite), South Africa (Nu Metro), Greece (Odeon), Iceland (Sam Films), Turkey, India and Pakistan (Tanweer), Bulgaria (Tandem), Croatia/Slovenia/Serbia (Discovery), Czech Republic (AQS), Hungary and Romania (Prorom), Poland (Monolith), Russia/Baltic States (West), South Korea (Noori) and Israel (United King).

Deals closed in Latin America (IDC), Middle East (Front Row), Indonesia (PT Amero), Malaysia (Universal Excel), Philippines (Captive), Hong Kong (Intercontinental), Thailand (M Pictures), Vietnam (Noori/Megastar), Singapore (Cathay), Taiwan (CMC), Southeast Asian TV (Fox/Star) and Jaguar (airlines/ships).

Nicholas Hoult, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christina Hendricks and Drea de Matteo also star in the story of the grown-up survivor of a massacre who years later revisits the events of that fateful night.

Gilles Paquet-Brenner directs and Exclusive Media produces with Stephane Marsil of Hugo Films, Theron’s Denver and Delilah Productions partners Beth Kono and AJ Dix, and Mandalay’s Cathy Schulman and Matt Rhodes.

Exclusive Media’s Matt Jackson serves as producer with the company’s Guy East, Nigel Sinclair, Tobin Armbrust and Alex Brunner on board as executive Producer with Peter Safran.
