Prison drama is from the producer of Dallas Buyers Club and exec producer Mark Wahlberg.

LA-based sales company Fabrication Films has acquired foreign distribution rights to Stealing Cars and will be selling the prison drama at the Cannes Marche.

Directed by Bradley Jay Kaplan and written by Will Aldis and Steve Mackall the film stars Emory Cohen, John Leguizamo, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Heather Lind, Mike Epps and Paul Sparks.

The story centres on a troubled teen (Cohen) whose criminal activities, including stealing cars, lands him in a ruthless prison for youth offenders. Consumed by a death wish, the youngster inspires his fellow inmates and rallies them to bring down the corrupt institution and it’s manipulative warden (Leguizamo).
