  • Fantastic line-up for 2013 but what happened to all the British contenders? No Loach, no Leigh, no Brits?

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • Loach has just had a film distributed, Spirit of '45. Leigh is filming something now I believe - so obviously not ready. There are other sections to be announced - Directors Fortnight and Critics Week - in the last few years their selections have been much more interesting, so the Brits still maybe represented yet.

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • Really meant that unless you are a Cannes habiitue like Loach or Leigh then British cinema doesn't get much of a look in.

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • There is seemingly only one British film in the whole festival: The Magnificent Lion Boy in Cinéfondation. The producer and country of production is the UK, with the film being made at the National Film & Television School.
