Enrique Gonzalez Macho, CEO of troubled Spanish firm Alta Films, is to join the five-strong jury.

The five-member jury of Un Certain Regard has been announced by the Cannes Film Festival.

As previously announced, the president will be Thomas Vinterberg, the Danish director behind The Hunt and Festen.

Jury members include Enrique Gonzalez Macho, the chief executive of leading Spanish distributor, exhibitor and producer Alta Films who said the company was facing closure two weeks ago.

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, best known for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and more recently The Grandmaster, will also sit on the jury alongside French actress Ludivine Sagnier (Swimming Pool, Mesrine: Killer Instinct).

The jury line-up is rounded off by Ilda Santiago, the director of the Rio Film Festival.

This year’s festival will feature 18 films in Un Certain Regard, screened in the Debussy Theatre from May 16-25.

The opening film is Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring [click here for more].
