A delegation of Chinese film and TV industry executives is heading to London in September to forge ties with UK indies and broadcasters as part of the Screen China event.

The four-day event is scheduled to run from September 12 and has been organised by the Allied China Europe Society with the China Record Cultural Media Company and CTV Audio-Visual.

The Chinese delegation, expected to include directors, location scouts and businesses interested in funding British TV productions, will attend a strand of the conference, titled the British Chinese Film & TV Summit.

A party of senior officials from China’s State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television will also attend.

A series of panel discussions are planned to cover topics including co-production, financing and distribution opportunities. Downton Abbey writer Julian Fellowes has also been confirmed to speak at the event, due to the success of the period drama in China.

The British Chinese Film & TV Summit, due to be hosted at the British Film Institute, has been sponsored by global law firm DLA Piper.
