EXCLUSIVE: Fulwell 73 to produce Ben Turner’s first scripted feature.

Fulwell 73, the London-based production company behind hit documentary One Direction 3D: This Is Us, is to make a dark comic thriller set in the EDM world of Ibiza.

A Bus Could Run You Over will mark the scripted feature debut of Ben Turner, director of Fulwell 73’s football documentary Class of 92 and music videos for boy band One Direction.

Fulwell 73’s Leo Pearlman will produce the film, which will commence principal photography on Sepetmber 28 in Ibiza, with release set for summer 2016.

The film is based on Colin Butts’ novel of the same name. The story centres on Connor, whose best friend becomes embroiled in the plans of a vicious drug gang in Ibiza.

Connor is the only one who can help him, but it means returning to the island he has avoided since the death of a friend when he worked in Ibiza. In doing so, it reminds him that his life in London is not as perfect as it seems and Ibiza is the only place he will be happy - if he can stay alive long enough to enjoy it.

Butts’ previous novels include Is Harry On The Boat.

Pearlman said of the film: “If the Coen brothers set a film in Ibiza, this would be it.

“The explosion of interest over the last few years in the States for EDM and in particular for all things Ibiza has been nothing short of remarkable.

“When you combine that with a great script and a director, Benjamin Turner, who we’re all so excited to work with, you have the makings of a great film.”

Executive producers and investors on the project include owners of Ibiza bars and clubs, which will provide access to the dance scene of the island.

Executive producers include Max Leverett, partner in the Es Vive Hotel; Jeremy Bussey, partner in the Sands beach bar Playa Den Bossa; Andy Ruhan, chairman of Lotus Formula One team; and Tony Truman, Wayne Lineker and Maxi Johal, the team behind the Ocean Beach Club Ibiza.

Co-producers are Heather Greenwood and Danny Potts.
