Creative production and marketing outfit PPC appoints Coplon Head of Client Services, US

International marketing and creative production outfit PPC (Picture Production Company), headed by Icon Chair Stewart Till, has appointed former Miramax employee Ben Coplon to Head of Client Services, US.

Coplon will run the company’s new LA office, which aims to provide a 24 hour service for studio clients and the local independent sector.

The company’s LA branch is set to open August, 2011 and augments the existing London office.

From 1997 through 2008, Coplon worked at Miramax Films on campaigns including Gangs of New York, The Queen and No Country For Old Men. After leaving Miramax, he opened a New York office for LA-based trailer and creative content vendor MobScene before working as a producer at the Cimarron Group.

Stewart Till, Chair of PPC, said: “As we are providing a marketing and creative service to a worldwide film business, it is important to have an office in LA as well as London. Ben, with his impressive career, completely understands the market in which we operate and the needs of our clients.”

Ben Coplon commented: “I’ve always admired PPC’s creative work and client service and I’m honoured and excited to be a part of their return to the US market. Bringing PPC’s understanding of international film marketing to LA’s studio and independent marketers, on a 24-hour basis, will help our clients succeed in today’s highly competitive global marketplace.”

PPC creates theatrical trailers, campaigns for television and radio and digital marketing materials for upcoming releases. The company created UK trailers for A Prophet and I Am Love, and international trailers for Robin Hood and Centurion.

The company has also developed digital marketing campaigns for tentpole releases such as Avatar and Star Trek, using 3D and augmented reality.
