Lawrence Silverstein has launched Santa Monica-based sales and production company Topanga Pictures, here with the Sean Faris and Danny Dyer parkour action film Freerunner.

The company will focus on high-end commercial fare designed to cater to the global marketplace. Silverstein is the new entity’s CEO with Jeremy Sklar on board as director of creative affairs.

In Freerunner, the world’s best parkour athletes are kidnapped, fitted with explosive collars and given 60 minutes to compete in a televised contest run by the sadistic Mr Frank, played by Dyer.

Silverstein is producing with Warren Ostergard and pre-sold to Image Entertainment in the US, eOne in the UK and Tiberius in Germany at the EFM last February. Rebecca Da Costa rounds out the key cast.

Topanga is also representing worldwide rights on the ultimate fighting thriller Forced To Fight starring Peter Weller and Gary Daniels.

Silverstein was a co-founder of the LA-based sales and production company Strategic Film Partners and prior to that served several years at Lightning Entertainment. He started his career working for John Fremes at Fusion International.
