The AFM has announced the five nominees for the first Favorite Film Pitch award in its joint initiative with the People’s Choice Awards.

A panel of industry professionals selected: Stephanie Bell (The Devil Of Appalachia), Carlo Besasie (All The Queen’s Men), Mouncey Ferguson (Forger), Barry Kneller (The Mechanics) and David Minnihan (Father John).

At the 2010 People’s Choice Awards on January 6, fans voted online for the pitch they most wanted to see get made into a film, based on two-anda-half-minute pitches recorded live during last November’s AFM.

The winner will receive an AFM 2010 package that includes travel to the market in November, accommodation for five nights, and full access to the market as well as meetings with producers and distributors.

The winner will be announced shortly after polls close on January 20.
