The Brazilian director of City Of Men and founder of O2 Filmes was in Los Angeles earlier this month to demonstrate the programme after years of development.
The software allows writers to view the entire script on a single page and offers graphical analysis of key dramatic points, story arcs, character development and emotional rhythms.
“Story Touch started as a simple idea to fill a void that was created by traditional scriptwriting programmes,” Morelli said. “As I continued to develop the software, it evolved from a text and structural editor into a sophisticated, but easy-to-use program that offers filmmakers and creative crews a deeper understanding of any story and its characters.”
“Story Touch gives screenwriters a clear notion of the excess fat, or level of sugar, salt or hormones in their story,” Fernando Meirelles, the director of City Of God and Morelli’s partner at O2 Filmes, said.
