The once exclusive production arrangement between the parties has been changed to a first-look deal.

Brian Grazer (pictured) and Ron Howard have situated themselves at the studio since 1986 making it the longest standing production deal in Universal’s history.

The partnership has yielded such acclaimed films as A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Inside Man and Frost/Nixon.

“Ron and Brian have not only been our dear friends over the many years we’ve been at Universal, they’ve also been great partners,” Universal chairman Adam Fogelson and co-chairman Donna Langley said. “Together, our companies have enjoyed making some of the most popular titles of the past two decades.  This pact will allow us to continue to foster this invaluable relationship and build upon our shared history of success.” 

 
“The studio has been our home for decades,” the Imagine partners said. “We are proud of our history with Universal and really look forward to making successful and memorable movies with our long time partners,” said Grazer and Howard. 

The Imagine-Universal development pipeline includes 364, sci-fi project Amnesty; a remake of the 1970 Universal film Colossus; comedy Sick Day; thriller The Parsifal Mosaic; and the drama Lowriders.
