California-based Ascent Media Group has hired Douglas Parrish as executive vice president of operations and Drake Pruitt as senior vice president of business development.

Ascent provides creative, technical and content distribution services.

Parrish most recently served as senior VP of operations and development at Utah-based Move Networks, an internet TV company. Previously he was executive VP and chief technology officer at the Walt Disney Internet Group. He also previously worked as chief information officer for Polaroid.

Drake previously founded consultancy Disruptive Works Media and prior to that served as CEO of software company Bocada and as VP of sales for Aquantive.

“Doug and Drake are both deeply experienced media and technology executives who will play essential roles in driving Ascent’s digital media growth strategy,” said Jose Royo, CEO of Ascent Media Group. “Doug’s focus is on expanding and enhancing our media management and content distribution solutions to further scale our global delivery platform as well as deliver the highest levels of satisfaction to Ascent’s clients. Drake’s role is focused on extending our customer base, building partnerships and identifying new strategic opportunities in this digital supply chain.”

Parrish will be based in Ascent’s Santa Monica headquarters and will report directly to Royo. Pruitt will report to Tom Kuehle, executive vice president, strategic solutions.
