Dinah Caine is to become chair of the Creative Skillset board, prompting the training body to begin a hunt to replace her in the chief executive role.

Caine, who has been Creative Skillset’s chief executive since 1992, will replace Sonar Entertainment director Stewart Till, who has completed his five-year term. She will take up the position following the appointment of a new chief executive.

During her time in the role, Caine has delivered initiatives including online employment platform Hiive and the introduction of the Skills Investment Funds.

To coincide with the move, Endemol Shine Group chief executive Sophie Turner-Laing and Pinewood Group chief executive Ivan Dunleavy, have been appointed to the Creative Skillset board.

They will join board members including Channel 4 chief executive David Abraham and BBC North director Peter Salmon.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work to strengthen our partnerships with Government and to supporting the new chief executive as they lead the organisation forward into the next exciting stage of its development,” said Caine.

Turner-Laing added: “The training and skills agenda plus promoting the diversity of our industries has always been vital to their growth and is a great interest of mine.”
