Beasts Of The Southern Wild producer Dan Janvey [pictured] is among the guests set to attend the 25th Helsinki International Film Festival (HIFF), which runs Sept 20-30.

Janvey will be on hand to introduce his film, which opens the festival.

Other guests scheduled to attend include Italian director Stefano Sollima and Danish director Mads Matthiesen. American director-screenwriter will also be at the festival for his debut feature Gimme The Loot, which screens as part of HIFF’s Indie Jewels strand.

As part of their celebration of 100 years of Estonian cinema, the festival will welcome director/writer/producer Jaak Kilmi, director Ain Mäeots and actor Tambet Tuisk, who stars in Mäeots’ Demons.

Alongside the 23 Finnish films showing in the Finnish Film Week, as part of HIFF, three local titles will be screened in the festival’s Nordic Exports section: Zagros Manuchar’s Salpa, Mohamed El Aboudi’s Dance Of Outlaws and Eija-Liisa Ahtila’s experimental The Annuciation. Manuchar, El Aboudi and Ahtila will all be in attendance at the festival.
