Board members at in-flight entertainment specialists Global Eagle Entertainment have promoted Dave Davis to CEO, effective immediately.

The veteran of Northwest Airlines and US Airways previously served as CFO and COO and takes over from John LaValle, who will continue to work with the company as a consultant.

Davis has also served as senior managing director of Perseus, partner and co-founder of Bearpath Capital and CFO of Kraton Polymers and US Airways.

Mike Zemetra, currently svp of finance and chief accounting officer, will be appointed acting CFO.
