Topics including human rights and empowering the next generation of creative women will be covered at the event, taking place during the AFM.

Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media founder Geena Davis and Women In Film president Cathy Schulman are to deliver keynote addresses at the ArcLight Presents Women in Entertainment Summit in Los Angeles on November 5.

The event, which takes place during the American Film Market and AFI Fest in Los Angeles, marks the first foray into live programming by US exhibitor ArcLight Cinemas, whose Hollywood Dome flagship cinema will host the summit.

The summit will explore topics ranging from human rights and women’s leadership to storytelling across platforms and empowering the next generation of creative women.

“As women, our leadership roles keep expanding and with them the challenges we face in the entertainment industry. We are thrilled to get involved in changing the face of entertainment by cultivating these discussions,” said Arclight executive vice president Gretchen McCourt.

Added Davis (pictured): “We’re excited to partner with ArcLighton this initiative. The only way to create change is to have key entertainment industry decision makers take the lead by driving opportunities for women on-screen and behind the scenes.”
