The former Clinton era White House press secretary has been named evp of worldwide corporate communications and pubic affairs, replacing Sue Fleishman who is leaving after nine years in charge.

Myers will join the company on September 2 and report to studio CEO Kevin Tsujihara.

“We are thrilled that Dee Dee will join Warner Bros at this exciting and transformative time at our studio and in our industry,” said Tsujihara.

“Dee Dee brings a creative and strategic mindset to communications and public positioning. Her engaging and collaborative demeanour paired with her acute understanding of how to engage constituencies will help us strengthen our position as the leading global studio. I look forward to her becoming an integral part of our strong executive team.”

Myers will oversee all of the company’s corporate communications strategies and activities on a worldwide basis, including media relations, executive communications, corporate responsibility and philanthropy.

“Kevin has shown himself to be an original thinker and innovative leader and Warner Bros is the most storied studio in Hollywood,” said Meyers. “I look forward to joining the Warner Bros team at this exciting and complex time in the entertainment industry.”

Fleishman recently guided the studio through a tumultuous succession war that saw Tsujihara replace Barry Meyer and resulted in the departure of Jeff Robinov.

She is among other accomplishments credited with creating the company’s We Can Be Heroes initiative focused on the hunger crisis in the Horn Of Africa.

“In her nine years at Warner Bros, Sue masterfully navigated the constantly evolving 24/7 news and media environment,” said Tsujihara. “In addition to numerous other accomplishments, she established an international team and ensured both a global perspective and consistency to our company messaging. I’m grateful for her many contributions to Warner Bros and know she’ll have great success in all her future endeavours.”
